COMMUNITY-BASED ECO TOURISM IN INDONESIA
PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A TRULY OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH INDONESIAN ADVENTURE.
Hike deep into the jungle searching for wildlife. Climb a steaming volcano or two. Trek through lush cinnamon forests and verdant green rice paddies. All while directly supporting conservation and communities in the idyllic wilds of Sumatra. Come explore the incredible Kerinci Seblat National Park, and discover the Kerinci and Bengkulu regions of this enchanting island.
Since 2010, the Wild Sumatra network has been helping responsible travelers discover ecotourism in Indonesia, in the most remote wild places left on the mysterious, mountainous, rainforest-shrouded island of Sumatra. We work with rural communities to support local guides, helping them promote their services and connecting them with off-the-beaten-track backpackers and adventurers. Our tours are focused on authentic, sustainable, small-group jungle trekking, wildlife viewing, and cultural experiences in Sumatran rainforests and surrounding villages.
We believe strongly that community-based ecotourism in Sumatra can support conservation and help safeguard the still-untouched forests and wildlife of the island, while helping to improve the quality of life for people living on the forest’s edge. Come explore with us, and help make the world a better place.
